Our quilted tote bags are made by hand in Seaside, Oregon. They are made from secondhand, vintage, or handmade quilts that we hand cut into our bag patterns to give a new life. They mostly come in two sizes, a taller more square version and a longer rectangle version. The taller version measures 16″ wide and 16″ high when laid flat. The longer rectangular version measures 19″ wide and 13″ high when laid flat. Both have 3″ boxed corners in the bottom to give the bags some depth. There are also a few bags that are smaller than these dimensions to maximize the usable area of a quilt. These bags are noted accordingly in the dimensions at the top of their listing.

All of the bags are lined with differing secondhand, vintage, or deadstock fabrics making each bag unique and different unto itself. Going forward all bags will also have an 8.5″x 6.5″ interior pocket and a key leash with a snap hook. They also feature handles made from cotton webbing, a snap closure, and a waxed canvas double layered bottom to provide additional longevity. Many of the first 20 bags we made don’t have these features and are priced accordingly.

We do our best to cut these quilts in a way that avoids or minimizes any defects in the quilt, but some of them may have small defects, wear spots, fading, or stains. We do our best to note any of those and provide pictures of them in each product listing. The fabrics have been pre-washed, but spot-cleaning only is recommended for the life of the bag.
